At the end of the year it is customary to summarise the results of work. NBK Touristik CEO Recep Yavuz followed this rule. He presented a report on the number of tourists who visited the country. As expected, the largest number of guests came from Russia, but a complete surprise for the tourism business was the number of Poles visiting Turkey. If we talk about the number of guests, Side won the victory in the number of tourists, and the favourites were Turkish migrants who came from European countries to rest on their native shores.
“The high season ended in November and no radical changes are expected in the last two months of the year. At the end of the first 10 months, 15 million people visited Antalya. This is higher than the same period in 2019, which was the best year. Thus, at the end of the first 10 months, Antalya reached the highest figure ever,” the Turkish expert’s report read. “Russia sends the most tourists to Antalya. Russia was followed by Germany, England ranked third, Poland fourth and the Netherlands fifth,” the CEO revealed.
“Poland, which continues its steady growth and increased its numbers by 40 per cent compared to last year, should be seen as the new star of Antalya,” the report stated.
